“Double Lane Drive-Thru Drama (and the Anxious Brain That Can’t Even)”

Nothing makes me question my ability to make good choices quite like a fast-food double-lane drive-thru.

I roll up thinking I’m just getting fries. Instead, I get a crisis of confidence.

Do I choose the left lane or the right?
The left only has two cars, the right has four. OBVIOUSLY the left should be faster.
Spoiler alert: It wasn’t.
The person ahead of me was ordering like it was their first time ever seeing a menu—and I swear they had special requests for each item.

Meanwhile, the right lane zoomed through like a damn NASCAR pit crew.

I swear if Starbucks ever adopts the double-lane system, we are all absolutely doomed.

🤯 Why Does This Break Me?!

Because I have an anxious mind, that’s why.
Simple decisions shouldn’t be this hard, but they are—especially when you’re already burned out. I want to be that decisive, confident woman who says “this is what I want” and means it. Instead, I overthink everything from what to eat for dinner to whether or not I should read the group chat that’s 87 messages deep.

It’s like my brain is stuck in a spin cycle, and the water just won’t drain.

⚠️ The Mental Load Is Too Damn High

Women are constantly making decisions—for ourselves, our families, our coworkers, even strangers on the PTA. And we’re expected to be right about everything, every single time.
It’s exhausting AF.

No wonder our brains are foggy, our patience is thin, and we’re over here doubting ourselves about which drive-thru lane to pick like it’s a life-or-death decision.

🧘‍♀️ If You’re in a Fog Too… Try This:

  • Push the Pause Button. Take a breath. Cuss if you need to. Shake your hands out like a cartoon character. Just stop for a sec.
  • Try a Relaxation Technique. Meditate for 3 minutes (or scream into the void—both valid).
  • Sleep. Like, real sleep. I have insomnia too, and I promise: brain fog + no rest = full system crash.

We’re not always going to make the right decisions.
Sometimes you pick the wrong lane.
Sometimes you wear jeans to brunch and regret it by mimosa #2.
Sometimes you just gotta laugh at the chaos and give yourself grace.

Because if you’re doing your best? That’s more than enough.

TL;DR

I overthink everything—including fast food. 🍔🍟 Anxiety, burnout, and the mental load make tiny choices feel massive. 🧠 🤯 Sometimes I pick the wrong lane and that’s okay. 🤯 If you’re tired, you’re not alone. And your iced coffee is valid. 🥤😩
